If you are looking to buy cheap mobile phones, here is an option for you: the mobile phone maker INQ Mobile is launching two new cheap mobile phones optimised for social networking applications. When you take a look at the features of these phones, relatively to their low prices, you will understand why they are so attractive.

Here is some background information on this mobile phone maker. It actually part of Hong Kong’s Hutchison Whampoa - who in turn is the parent of mobile operator 3. They have already launched a cheap mobile phone with “smartphone-features” earlier this year. These two mobiles expands on this device and gives options for people looking to buy cheap mobile phones.

The names of these two cheap phones are the INQ Chat 3G phone, which has a full-Qwerty keypad and looks like a colourful BlackBerry, and the INQ Mini, which is shaped like a candy-bar and comes with a standard mobile phone keypad.

Features

It can be assumed right from the start that these 2 models are not as capable as your iPhone or Blackberry. Their operating systems are Java based and they don’t run full browsers. But hey! It got all the necessary functions of a good mobile phone. And the most important thing is that it is cheap. If you want to buy cheap mobile phones that meet your communication needs, they are more than sufficient. You don’t need that many features anyway!

The most wonderful features of the INQ mobile phone is that it has integrated many of the most popular web services, such as Facebook and Twitter, onto their handsets to give consumers a smartphone-like experience at a much lower price point. They also sync with your unprotected music stored in iTunes and Windows Media Player.

Prices

If you are going to cheap mobile phones, the price is the most important thing right? So, what do you expect these phones to cost? The Mini, which will cost less than $150 without a carrier subsidy, will go on sale in September. And the INQ Chat 3G, which will retail for less than $200 without a carrier subsidy, will go on sale in October.

Beyond the cheap handset prices, they have one powerful benefit. They are not smart phones. This means you can subscribe for less expensive data plans using the INQ phones. That translates to more savings for you.

Where are they sold?

The devices are expected to go on sale in six countries on Hutchison’s operator 3 later this year. These countries include the Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Sweden and the UK. However, US buyers will have to wait a while. Luckily for you, the company is already discussing a deal with a US operator. It could reach US by next year.
