Tips For Using Mobile Phones – Mobile Phones Easy

Posted on 11 September 2009 by cellphone

Before you go

Make sure your mobile phone will work in the country you’re travelling to. If your mobile phone works in the UK it will work anywhere in the EU, as well as many other countries.

Don’t forget to take your charger and travel adapter with you before you go on holiday.

If you are on pay as you go, don?t forget to top up before you leave.

Charges Abroad
Most of the time when you go to a country in Europe you will find there are several network providers and there can be different call charges that are applicable depending on which network provider you connect to. To find out how much calls cost when you are connected to any of the networks in the European country, it is advised to to visit ‘best roaming fares’ from GSM Europe.

Customers may find that their service provider has barred them from overseas use. This barring can usually be removed by telephoning the Customer Services of their network provider.

Voicemail
For all networks you may have to contact their customer services to enable voicemail abroad.

Phoning home from abroad
To call phone numbers from abroad, including mobiles, you?ll need to replace the first ?0? of the number with a country code – this is a ?+? sign and the country?s number. The UK?s number is ?44?.

Your Network
Because much of the information above depends upon your specific network operator, we have provided a guide below with helpful advice for all the major mobile phone providers.

Orange

Pay as you go
If you are on pay as you go your phone is already set up and you will not need to make any changes.

Monthly Tariff
If you pay monthly, you will need to contact Orange at least 24 hours before your departure on 150 from your mobile or 07973 100 150 from any other phone to ensure it is set up for use abroad. More information on using your Orange phone abroad including costs and coverage

Virgin Mobile

Pay as you go
If you are on pay as you go your phone is already set up and you will not need to make any changes.

Monthly Tariff
If you pay monthly you can use your mobile in over 160 countries. If you’re new to Virgin Mobile you are required to of paid 3 monthly bills or added a deposit of

Mobile Phones Taking Over Our Lives

Posted on 04 September 2009 by cellphone

Mobile phones (cell phones) have come a long way since their initial conception almost two decades ago.It wasn’t so long ago that phones were the size of small dog and had about as many functions as a light switch. Nowadays however everything is touch screen and interactive. You can download videos to watch on your phone, get real-time news fed into it and even use it as a satellite navigation device. The mobile phone is not stopping there however, many believe that it will continue to have more technology incorporated into it and will soon be the only gadget people will need.

John Moore, head of Advanced Technology at Cambridge University had outlined his vision for the future. ? I predict that very soon all the requirements of the modern way of life will be served by phones?technology is getting smaller thanks to things like mini electrical components and people are becoming ever more mobile, so it make sense that people want to carry their life in their pocket?.

MP3 players used to be things you had in addition to your phone, but as there is plenty of storage room in your cell these days, more and more people are using them for their music devices. The cameras in phones now are catching up normal digital cameras, and can offer mega pixel specs of up to 10.0, have a whole host of different shooting functions and again, can easily store whole photo albums. Internet browsing has been made very easy on the latest phones, and many websites have started creating ?phone-friendly? versions of their sites in response to the growth in phone browsing.

Some critics have suggested that people will not want to give up the luxury of having large viewing screens like they do on their PCs, or TVs. However, Nokia have recently released a phone with an incorporated projector built in that can provide a screen size of up to 50 inches. It seems like it?s out with home entertainment units and cable ties, and in with nana processers and micro circuit breakers, powering some of the most power bits of kit the world has ever seen.

Know Your Phone Battery

Posted on 02 September 2009 by cellphone

The only source of energy is a battery cell phone, as good and clever as any of a cell phone will not be able to function without the energy from the battery. The following article about cell phone batteries, including some things that must be understood by engineers associated with mobile phone batteries, such as sistemasi how to work a cell phone battery, charging the optimal techniques include reviving a weak battery.

Battery used for the phone type rechargeable batteries (can be charged again). Until now commonly used in portable devices such as mobile phones are: Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd), Nickel-Metal-hydride (NiMH), Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) and Lithium-Polymer (Li-Polymer).

Function battery that is changing the chemical energy into electrical energy that can be used as an energy source. The battery has 3 important components of the positive electrode, negative electrode and electrolyte materials that lie between the second electrode. Electrolyte materials which will react to produce electrical energy to then be distributed through positive and negative electrode.

The types of rechargeable batteries:

1. NiCd Battery

Characteristics of NiCd batteries:
? nominal voltage of NiCd battery cells are 1.2 volts
? The battery is a higher nominal voltage of several series connected cells
? Excess NiCd batteries other than the three types is the ability to handle high loads
? In addition NiCd batteries 5x faster in-charge than NiMH batteries or 20x faster than lithium batteries, because it can use a fast charger
? The disadvantage compared to lithium batteries is the low storage capacity, the ratio of power / weight is lower, and the memory effect
? In addition NiCd batteries that have been in-charge can empty itself (self-discharging) even if not used. Approximately 22% of energy lost in 24 hours.
? NiCd battery that is weak should not be directly in charge.
? NiCd battery must be vacated until completely discharged before the charge.
? If required by more than 10 hours with a low flow will rapidly weakened due to memory effect, the battery is not able to work although fully charged due to precipitation of metal crystals on the negative electrode so that the reduced battery capacity, impedance (resistance of) increasing the voltage drop that occurs when charged, the battery only works for a while.

2. NiMH

Characteristics of NiMH batteries:
? nominal voltage of NiMH battery cells are 1.2 volts
? Self dischargingnya smaller than NiCd batteries, depending on the typenya about 6 – 16% of energy will be lost within 24 hours
? charging the wrong way will cause the battery is not working normally, although the battery is fully charged but will be declared out even if used for a while. (normal but measurable voltage drop directly when loaded) condition is called lazy battery.
? NiMH battery can hold 2x more energy than a NiCD battery pack

3. Li – Ion

Characteristics of Li – Ion
? Nominal voltage Li-Ion battery is 3.6 volts
? Electrolytes in Li-Ion battery is very reactive, bocorannya can cause corrosion to equipment
? Li-Ion battery is placed in a metal casing that is stable and strong
? microcontroller and the sensors mounted on the casing to prevent excessive heat and overcharging.
? energy density of Li-Ion battery capable of storing energy 3x more than a NiCD battery pack
? Li-Ion battery has no memory effect and lazy battery so the battery does not need to emptied before the charge.
? Self discharging also smaller at around 10% within 24 hours
? Impedance (prisoners in) Li-Ion battery is higher compared to NiCd and NiMH, of 200 – 250 m &
